The trial found that the intervention group had a significantly lower incidence of postpartum hemorrhage of 4% than the control group of 6.4%. The intervention group also had a lower severity of hemorrhage, as measured by the need for additional interventions and the length of hospital stay. The study demonstrated the effectiveness of the protocol in low-, middle-, and high-income settings, suggesting that it could be implemented globally.
