Tesco Clubcard Rewards Scheme changes

Martin Lewis, the founder of MoneySavingExpert.com, is warning Tesco Clubcard shoppers that there are only two weeks left to act before significant changes to the rewards scheme come into effect.

Starting from 10 June, the value of many vouchers will be cut, meaning that loyal customers will have to spend more to get the same amount of rewards.

What are the changes?

Under the current Tesco Clubcard scheme, customers can earn one point for every £1 spent in store, online or at fuel stations. Each point is worth 1p when redeemed in-store. However, starting from 10 June, the value of many of the rewards will be cut, so 100 points will be worth just 50p, instead of the current £1.

Martin Lewis says that the changes will have a significant impact on many customers and that those who have earned vouchers recently should try to use them as soon as possible. He also advises shoppers to check their accounts and make sure that they are up to date, as some vouchers may expire before 10 June.

What can shoppers do?

To ensure that they get the best value from their Tesco Clubcard vouchers, shoppers should:

– Check their accounts for any remaining vouchers and use them before 10 June.
– Use their vouchers to buy products that they would buy anyway, such as groceries or household items.
– Check the new reward scheme to see whether it is still worth using the Tesco Clubcard scheme.

Martin Lewis also advises shoppers to consider switching to alternative rewards schemes, such as the Nectar scheme, which gives shoppers points at Sainsbury’s, Argos and a number of other retailers.
